The Newton on Ouse Angling Club fishes in Cherry Fields – the stretch of river from Beningbrough gate to the water tower – during the coarse fishing season. Season tickets may be obtained (discounts available for under 16’s), or day tickets purchased.
The Men’s Darts Team meets every Thursday evening in the Blacksmiths Arms at 8.15pm and plays in the Marston Moor League. Captain: Mike Allison – 07831458032

Shipton & Newton Art Group
The Playing Field Committee is responsible for maintaining the children’s play area and sports field. This is achieved by lottery grants and locally organised fundraising. If you would like to become involved with this group or have any other enquiry, please contact the Chair, Steve Calvert.
We will continue to open our Sunday afternoon kiosk on football weekends and other occasions when the weather is good, serving teas and coffees, soft drinks and snacks at very reasonable prices! We will put a sign outside the main gate if the kiosk is open.
Fancy a walk with good company and a pub lunch to follow?
The Newton Walkers meet once a month and generally walk between 5 and 8 miles in the beautiful and varied Yorkshire countryside. Our walks take place on the last Thursday of each month. and we meet at The Green in Newton on Ouse at 9.30am to share transport.
